Short and sweet

9-16-13

I met Jennifer (from Rexburg).  (Austin ran into a lady at Stake Conference that I use to babysit in Rexburg.  She texted me late Saturday night with a picture of her with Austin and his companion).  She said you use to babysit her.  It's so weird how I'm all the way down here, and there are so many connections back to Rexburg.  I am not getting transferred this transfer and I'm staying with my trainer-which is good.  The only thing I need is that ipod with music.

Love ya,

Big storm!

9-9-13

Thanks for continuing to write me.  I really enjoy hearing about everything that is going on back at home.  I saw all of those pictures of the slip-n-slide on dropbox.  It looks like it was a lot of fun!  That also sounds like a neat experience the Smith's had with that family.  A similar thing is happening with one of our investigators.  They are looking for a church to join, but they don't want to stop smoking and cussing.  They are really nice people, though.  We found a few more people and a family that we could potentially start teaching soon, so hopefully we will be doing less knocking and wandering around, and more teaching.  Friday night there was a massive thunder storm for about 2 hours and it rained a ton.  I got some pictures and video of it and I'll try to put it on dropbox.  The bottom level of our complex on the first floor, had literally 3 inches of water flowing like a river and our parking lot looked like a lake.  There was lightening everywhere.  I thought it was so cool.  Florida has a really good draining system, because pretty much all of the water was gone by morning.  Other than that, not too much happened this last week besides a lot of finding and a little bit of teaching.  We have transfer calls this Friday though, so don't mail me anything after like Tuesday of this week, because I might get transferred and may not get it.  I don't think I will yet, though.  Usually trainees stay for at least one more transfer after they are done with training.  I'll let you know next week, though, for sure. The heat and humidity here are really brutal, but it should start to cool down in about 2 months.  It's been exhausting riding bikes and stuff, but well worth it!
I hope all is going well at home.  How is the yard coming along?  Maybe you could post some pictures of it.  How is Dad's hip doing?  Hopefully, school is getting a little easier to deal with and the girls are doing good heading back to school.

Love,
Elder A. Whaley

P.S.  Look up the ending of 2 Kings 2.  I just found that story of the bears and the children, and I found it pretty funny.  All I can say is don't make fun of the prophet!  Haha.

Storm coming in.

Lots of water!

Looks like a lake.
